Project Duration

March 2023 - Sept 2023

Overview

Meal Wheels provides users with a convenient and efficient way to order food from a variety of food trucks. With a focus on quick, affordable, and healthy food options, the app aims to cater to the needs of busy individuals seeking diverse culinary experiences.

The Problem

Meal Wheels aims to address the challenges faced by busy individuals, such as single parents like Amelia and professionals like Alex, who struggle to find quick, affordable, and healthy food options from food trucks due to limited time, financial constraints, and decision overload.

Understanding the User

An in-Depth research was conducted to understand user behavior, goals, and pain points. Following two methods were utilized considering the time constraints:

Surveys

Provided quantitative feedback from a large sample of our target audience, enabling data-driven analysis.

Interviews

Offered qualitative feedback, allowing us to ask open-ended questions to gain deeper insights into user behavior and needs.

Pain Points

Difficulty in Scanning Text

The app should have minimal text clutter and provide alternative options for visually presenting information, such as images and icons, to enhance readability and ease of use for users with dyslexia.

Waiting in Long Queues

The app should provide time estimates for pick-ups, allowing users to plan their orders in advance and minimize waiting time, improving efficiency and enhancing the overall user experience.

Accessibility Barriers

The app should be optimized for screen reader usage, with features such as adjustable font sizes, high color contrast, and structured content, to enable visually impaired users to navigate and interact with the app effortlessly, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.

Limited Menu Visibility

The Meal Wheels app can enhance the user experience by offering a user-friendly interface that presents menus clearly, includes detailed descriptions and prices, and allows users like Amelia and Alex to make informed choices based on their preferences and dietary needs.

Persona - Amelia

Amelia needs a solution that streamlines the food ordering process from food trucks, providing her with convenient and efficient options that save her time, reduce confusion, and allow her to easily track her orders during her busy routine.

Persona - Alex

Alex requires a solution that offers fast and convenient mobile ordering from food trucks, providing him with unique and diverse food options to enjoy during his lunch breaks. He needs a system that eliminates the time wasted in long queues, ensures the availability of his favorite meals, and sends timely reminders when food trucks are nearby, enabling him to maximize his efficiency and enjoy satisfying culinary experiences.

High Fidelity

For high fidelity, I refined the design with meticulous detail, bringing the wireframes to life. Each pixel was carefully considered to create a polished and user-friendly interface, ensuring a visually appealing and functionally robust experience.
